Where to start a daily SPF routine
SPF numbers, textures and where sun care sits under makeup.
A sun product is often the last daytime layer after moisturiser. This article helps you read pack numbers and textures. It is not a medical source on UV-related disease, allergy or medicines.
What the SPF number is
SPF is a lab-measured factor. A higher number is not a licence to stay out indefinitely. Face and body formulas often differ in texture and size. PA, PPD or “broad spectrum” are manufacturer UVA notes and are not written the same in every market.
Texture: cream, fluid, stick
- Cream / lotion: common for face and body; may need a minute before makeup.
- Fluid / gel: thinner finish, often chosen when the T-zone looks shiny.
- Stick: handy for small areas and bags; may not cover a full face.
In the routine
Morning: cleanser → moisturiser → sun product → makeup. Follow the amount and timing on the pack. This page is not medical advice. Shop face and body SPF in our sun-care category.
