How to shop haircare by hair feel
Oily roots, dry ends? Where shampoo, cream and oil sit on a shopping list.
Haircare shelves split into shampoo, conditioner, mask, oil and spray. The useful filter is how roots and ends feel, and how often you wash — not the loudest repair claim. This article does not replace care for shedding, itch or scalp conditions.
Think roots and ends separately
- Roots oil quickly, ends look dull: a lighter shampoo at the scalp; conditioner mostly mid-lengths to ends is a common habit.
- Dry, fluffy lengths: cream and optional oil on ends; “moisture” textures are often browsed.
- Fine hair, lift: heavy oils and dense masks can weigh roots; a mist or light cream is easier to control.
